Preliminary Task- Questionnaire results: college students

65% of the participants were females and 35%
were male

95% said they didn’t read the existing college
magazine, this shows that the product isn’t working for its target audience and
needs an update.
3.
The colours for the magazine that came out on
top were: blue, black, white, red, green, yellow. From these we can pick three
or four. So the colour scheme will be determined from these colours.
4.
85% said they would pay from nothing to 50p for
each issue. So the issue will cost nothing/50p to please the majority. The cost
of an issue will be no more than 50p.
5.
70% said they would want an issue published
either monthly (10 issues annually) or each half term (6 issues annually).
6.
50% of the participants said that they would
prefer an informal magazine whereas 40% said they would prefer a mixed style.
Therefore this magazine will be mainly informal and partly formal.
7.
Out of the entire list of article features, the
top choices were: college trips, music, freebees, technology, sport, fashion,
tv/film and a problems page. Around 4 will go on the cover and the rest will
appear on the contents page.
8.
40% of participants said they would want a
student as the cover photo, 30% chose a celebrity and a further 30% said they
would like a nature scene. Therefore the cover photo will alternate between the
three.
9.
Finally 100% of the participants said they would
want a jobs page in the magazine. This will also be displayed on the
cover.
